Reez is a community development organization with a mandate to blend and unify human diversities by promoting healing and empowerment … and to promote changes in attitudes, beliefs and social norms. We are committed to empowering families and strengthening communities by centering lived experiences.
Our strategic focus is on supporting and enhancing the functioning of individuals and families of African descent, Indigenous Canadians and other vulnerable populations including newcomers and immigrants.
Guiding Principles – Our Approach
In all it does, Reez Community Foundation will:
- Plan with people not for them: Any detailed action plan must arise from ongoing dialogue that reflect their most pressing concerns. We ill remain grounded in the community.
- Undertake action and analysis simultaneously: Engage in continuing evaluation, self-reflection, adjustment, refinement and retraining as needed whilst implementing our action plan.
- Commit to nurturing constructive partnerships: Gain allies by being an ally.
- Have a firm handle on discrimination: Articulate a clear understanding of racism and its inter-sectional implications. Strive to candidly address these in all relevant interactions to facilitate the progressing of information into knowledge and then wisdom.
